Design per il Patto di Sussidiarietà
Within the Department of Architecture and Design at the University of Genoa, students and researchers have collaborated in a design workshop focused on the creation of totems and urban installations. The initiative, led by Professor Silvia Pericu, is part of the Patto per una Rigenerazione Partecipata, aimed at enhancing the public spaces of the Sestiere del Molo through design and community involvement.
Lab Prione will become one of the central spaces of this process, serving as a hub for the development of projects dedicated to the regeneration of the neighborhood. As part of this initiative, students have developed proposals for three key squares of the district: Piazza Embriaci, Piazza Valoria, and the Giardinetto del Molo.
- Piazza Embriaci: the project involves the installation of suspended sails, inspired by the maritime symbolism of Genoa, to create dynamic shading and guide passersby towards three key destinations: San Lorenzo, Piazza Embriaci, and the sea.
- Giardinetto del Molo: the proposal is based on a system of vertical forests and suspended flowerbeds, which, through modular structures, promote the growth of urban greenery, improving the environmental quality of the square.
- Piazza Valoria: the projects focus on the collective and playful dimension of the space, with colorful and geometric installations that serve as seating as well as play elements for children, accompanied by an informational screen to encourage community interaction.
The initiative aims to offer new perspectives on participatory urban regeneration, creating more inclusive and livable spaces for residents. In addition, the public is invited to participate actively by voting for their preferred square at Salita del Prione 34 or on the Sestiere del Molo Facebook page.
